Living in Dunedin

Dunedin takes its name from the Scottish Gaelic name for Edinburgh, and its Scottish heritage still shows up in everything from the Dunedin Highland Games each spring to the Celtic Festival in the fall. The city sits along St. Joseph Sound in North Pinellas, with Edgewater Drive offering some of the most open water views on this stretch of the coast.

Downtown Dunedin is walkable and full of character, known for independent restaurants, craft breweries, coffee shops and boutiques instead of chain stores. The Pinellas Trail runs right through Main Street, connecting Dunedin to Clearwater, Palm Harbor and beyond by bike. The Dunedin Marina sits at the foot of downtown, and the Toronto Blue Jays have held spring training in Dunedin since 1977.

Just offshore, Honeymoon Island and Caladesi Island State Parks offer some of the best beaches on Florida's Gulf Coast. Caladesi has been ranked the best beach in the country.

Dunedin Isles, Waterfront & Downtown

Buyers can choose from waterfront homes in Dunedin Isles and Fenway-on-the-Bay, bluff-top homes in Harbor Bluffs, and homes within walking or biking distance of downtown. Dunedin Isles is also home to the historic Dunedin Golf Club.

Buying in Dunedin

On the water, the details decide the deal. I help buyers compare elevation, flood zone, seawall and dock condition and insurance from home to home, so you find the right fit, whether that's on the water or a short walk from Main Street.
