Island Community Overview

Clearwater Beach (Main Island)

USA Today rated this one of a kind island paradise as Florida’s number one beach town!   Fall in love with the island’s perfect sunsets, powdery white sands, and endless summer weather.  Race catamarans at the Community Sailing Center, swim with dolphins in Clearwater Harbor, or enjoy a peaceful morning beach walk along Clearwater Beaches five + mile stretch of perfect beach!  Natural sand dunes, crystal clear waters, and the sounds of wildlife can be found on this perfect island!

Clearwater Beach is a happening resort town both day and night!   Get your grove on at Sheppard’s dance club & tiki, unwind with a relaxing glass of Dom Perignon at the Sand Pearl Beach Resort, or relax with a glass of scotch while listening to live piano at the Beach Comber (our favorite).

Clearwater Beach residents enjoy well kept beach parks, tennis courts, beach library, an independent police division, well maintained roads, lush landscaping in all parks and medians, free outdoor movie nights, free outdoor music performances, and of course amazing sunsets at Pier 60!

There is no other town like this one!

Island Estates

Upscale residential homes, deep water intracoastals, and a diamond rated restaurant are all featured in this well maintained coastal neighborhood.   Island Estates is a boater’s paradise situated just to the west of the main island with easy access to all waterways.  This neighborhood boasts Clearwater Beach’s animal rescue operation, Clearwater Marina, which has been shown in multiple Hollywood productions, including such films as Dolphin Tales & Winter the Dolphin.

The neighborhood has a shopping center featuring Clearwater Beach’s only grocery store (Publix), most of the community’s financial institutions, liquor store, Boardwalk Sports Bar, the post office, and a few small eateries, including a pizza bar.

Sand Key

Less then one mile wide, the island of Sand Key is actually one of Florida’s east coast keys, separated from the mainland by Clearwater Harbor.  Sand Key features the Clearwater Beach Sailing Center, a community based sailing center where residents learn to sail, kayak, and beach boy surf (paddle board).  Once you become a member of the center, you are given the right to enjoy kayaking, sailing, and beach boy surfing anytime during the day within the boundaries of Clearwater Harbor.  Sand Key also features community based tennis courts, fishing docks, and boat launches!

The western side of the island is direct gulf front and features Sand Keys tall condominium buildings.  Facing Clearwater Harbor, the eastern side of the island is a boater’s dream featuring mainly town homes, low rise buildings, and single family homes.  U.S. Coast Guard has built the Clearwater Beach patrol station on the harbor side of Sand Key in order to ensure the safety of both boaters and swimmers alike.

Many newer and more upscale buildings are located on Sand Key, such as The Grand, Ultimar, Utopia, and Bella Rosa.  Sand Key also features a large state park with outdoor grills, kayak rentals, biking trails, hiking trails, and direct access to the Gulf of Mexico.   Coincidentally, the park is the keys only public beach access, thus making the condominiums beaches semi private.

Belleview Island

This very private and secure access only island is home to the area’s well to do.  Many large homes feature typical amenities, such as boat docks, boat slips, and lifting systems, but also come complete with boat houses, large yards, and over sized private swimming pools.  These homes range in size from just over 3,000 square feet to well over 15,000 square feet and many feature private in home theaters, piano or music rooms, ornate woodwork, and of course amazing harbor views!  The island was developed as a residential section of the Belleview Biltmore and is on the grounds of the once famous golf resort.
